Believe in Yourself and Others Will Follow

The very first step in creating success and reaching your full potential involves your impression of yourself.

That’s right.

Forget about all the naysayers and Debbie Downer’s in the world. The only opinion that matters is yours. When you look in the mirror what do you see?

A Future Millionaire?

A Leader at Work?

A Great Parent?

An Awesome Spouse?

Or do you even think about it? This may sound odd, but stare at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, “what am I?”

You need to be both comfortable and confidant in yourself to accomplish great things and reach your goals and dreams. When your looking in the mirror, tell yourself what you want to accomplish. Rather then making all the excuses of why you cannot do something, look yourself in the eye and ask, “Why not me?”

We are all given the gift of life, it is up to us individually to decide what we want to do with it. Your future is in your own hands.

Believe it. It is a fact.

The binding trait that aligns the most successful people from average people is the ability to believe in yourself and your abilities.

Rid yourself of the notion that only “certain” people are destined for opportunity and greatness. Though it seems that many of the most visibly successfully people just live charmed lives, it is not by accident. They have a great sense of self and worth that cannot be impacted by outside factors.

Do yourself a favor and define what your greatest desire is. Imagine for a moment that money and time are not a factor. What would it be?

Be specific, don’t just say “Millionaire” or “Successful”. Define what that is for yourself. Is your dream to be the best top producing sales person or to write a book. Make a list of items that you would like to do.

After completing this list, visualize yourself after achieving your goal. Write down what you see. Literally pick up a pencil and write it down, don’t just imagine it. Tell the story to yourself.

This way, you can look back at this visualization everyday until it feels so real you begin to live your dream.

Think about it like this. Have you ever put on a pair of somebody elses glasses or a pair that was not your prescription? It looks hazy doesn’t it? If you try and focus really hard to see, maybe by squinting your eyes, you can see.

Accomplishing your goals and dreams is very similar to this. When I asked the question earlier, to picture yourself accomplishing your greatest desire it was probably a little hazy for you. As time goes on and you continue to focus more and more, you will be able to cut through the haze and begin to see yourself achieving your goals. Soon, you will be able to see very clearly, almost as if you can reach out and grab it.

Allow yourself to dream and believe in you. Soon, as you gain a new and more confidant self image, others will see this too. They will want to follow you and believe in you. Before you know it, you will have an army of dedicated people helping you to achieve your greatest desire.

It will happen.

Believe in yourself.
