Goals: One Step Closer to Reaching Your Dreams

Goals are things that help define what it is that you are looking for. They are always on our mind and they keep us walking on the path that we have chosen. In times of confusion and chaos, goals hold us steady. We are all bombarded with people saying we need to make goals, guess what? Everyone is right. Creating clear goals that have been well thought out with specifics and time frames are very important to your success. After all, if you don’t have goals, what are you striving for?

There are many types of goals, both personal and professional. Having a good goal structure in place is a key component of success. If you have ever listened to some of the top producers across different industries, they all talk about their goals. Everyday we wake up with things in mind to do and every year we have ideas of what we would hope to accomplish. The one thing that prevents most of these from happening is the lack of a proper goal structure. Without this, your ideas and hopes, most often remain just that.

The common thread that binds all successful people is the presence of strong goal clarity. It will allow you to maintain your focus on the big picture rather then getting bogged down in everything that is thrown your way throughout day-today life.

I will get right to the point. Achieving strong goal clarity is not something that occurs at random or on a whim. It takes some time and preparation.

When setting goals for yourself, it’s also crucial that they are made in both a realistic and challenging manner. All too often, I see people creating unrealistic goals that when not reached or they appear unattainable, serve as a negative and discouraging force, rather then a positive. Goal achievement does not happen by just throwing out a number and hoping for the best; that’s called a wish.

Successful goal creation is done through planning for the future and looking at past results. It comes through understanding your market, prospects, and outside external forces that have an impact on your business.

After you have your goal set, it is imperative that it is written down in a visible location each day. If you sit in front of a computer, write it on a sticky note and place it on the computer screen. If you are in a car all day, place it on the dashboard. In whatever you do, find a place that works and place it there. Each day write your daily goal and then your yearly goal and put it in the same visible spot. In doing this, it serves as both a reminder and a motivator to work each day to accomplish your goal.

Creating goals does not happen in a vacuum, the world is a dynamic and changing place. In order for success your goal structure needs to adapt to it to be successful. Goals also need to be created and written out. When they are physically written down on paper, they become tangible, they become real, not just a dream or hope or a maybe.

To recap making goal clarity, you need to do the following three things:

1) Research it. 2) Write it. 3) Post it.

Doing these 3 steps will help you to achieve your goals, thus helping you to increase your success.

I can say with 100% certainty that you will see an increase in your awareness, productivity, and happiness by simply defining your goals, writing them down, and visualizing your attainment of these goals.
